How to Remove Swelling

Swelling can make you feel and you look bad, but these tips will surely help get you back into your skinny jeans anytime!

If you’ve been feeding you properly and exercising, doing all those things that experts say you should do in order to lose fat and see you healthy. But when you step on the scale, experience an unpleasant shock: instead of down, you’ve gained weight, nearly 3 kilos! What did you do wrong?

Absolutely nothing. All experience unexpected weight increases occasionally. Primarily due to water retention, also known as swelling. The periods of swelling usually very discouraging for those who have decided to start a diet, but it is important to remember that such increases are temporary weight. You can lose that excess water retained by following these simple rules:

Reduce your intake of carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates provide us energy quickly, but we also retain fluid. When stored in the body, carbohydrates retain water. The result is a “bloated” appearance, tight clothing and a few extra kilos on the scale.

To reduce swelling, eat fewer carbohydrates. You must note that this does not mean you need to eliminate all carbohydrates. Just avoid sugar, starch, and any other product developed based on refined white flour. Instead, select proteins, healthy fats, vegetables and products made based on linseed, for example. So you will see a significant reduction in your swelling in one or two days.

Use your glycogen stores.

Carbohydrates are stored in our muscles as glycogen. This combines with water to inflate the muscles and make them look bigger. While this is desirable and advisable in competitive bodybuilders, a dieter does not look bigger than it really is, but the opposite. To achieve weight loss, then you should try to burn glycogen stores.

The strategy is simple: eat fewer carbs and exercise more. Make a mixture of aerobic and resistance exercises and eat only protein and healthy carbohydrates such as fruits and vegetables; so you can provide fuel for your workouts.

Drink more water.

Fast: a fist! Now look: your hands feel tight and bulging? If you wear rings, see if leave marks on your skin sacártelos. If so, it is safe for swelling, probably caused by dehydration. Water is an infallible cure for this type of swelling.

When your body does not have enough water, it begins to retain every drop of fluid which it has access. This causes fluid to build up in your body, leaving you bloated and lazy. To overcome this survival mechanism of the human body, you need to drink plenty of water. But how much is too much? At least 64 ounces in a period of a few hours. You can say that your state of dehydration has been exceeded when you manage to expel an almost clear urine.

Removes excess salt.

Sodium is a necessary mineral, but a heaping diet of processed foods and junk (the typical Western diet) food sodium provides a level much higher than necessary or healthy. The human body requires only 500 milligrams of sodium per day, but many of us tend to eat about 6000 mg or more per day!

All this excess salt is detrimental to your health and your waistline. Sodium acts as an irritant to the muscles and organs. In order to dilute its effect, your body must retain water. This is why excessive salt intake causes swelling in many people. To avoid this, you should consume as many whole grain foods and unprocessed as possible. Use of potassium chloride as a salt substitute, for example, and drink lots of water to cleanse your system.

Caffeine: a dirty trick but fast.

Caffeine has both a laxative effect as a diuretic, making your body get rid of matter and fluids more quickly. If you need to look good for a special event but have not been able to eliminate swelling, have some coffee with 64 ounces of water. This will make things “moving”.

Remember that caffeine is only a quick fix, and should not be used as a long term strategy for weight loss, this method will result in a temporary loss of water only. So you must return to your healthy diet plan as soon as possible, and follow the clues to stave previous swelling.
